Intrusion Detection System
Netgain utilizes an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to detect possible unauthorized attempts to access the network and systems within our data center. Netgain uses the IDS not only to detect access to the network, but also to detect suspicious activity within the network. Once identified, we log information about them and take actions to prevent the event from happening again.
Customized rules are created based on best practices that alert Netgain’s Security Team for further investigation. For example, if someone attempts three times to access the system with incorrect passwords, the user’s account will be locked down, a notification of the event will be sent to Netgain’s Security Team, and access will be denied until further contact from the authorized user.
